Seventeen Johnston paraeducators are participating in Iowa’s first-in-the-nation Teacher and Paraeducator Registered Apprenticeship Grant Program.

The program, just launched in the 2022-23 school year, is a new model of teacher preparation. It provides up to $47,000 over two years for associates to take college classes and earn their bachelor’s degrees, all while continuing to learn and work in the classroom.

Congratulations and good luck on your journey to becoming a teacher!
