U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra announced on Apr. 27 that his office will host a Military Academy Day for Iowa students from eighth to twelfth grade who are interested in applying to one of the nation’s five military academies.
The event is intended to help students learn more about opportunities at the United States Air Force Academy, United States Military Academy, United States Naval Academy, United States Merchant Marine Academy, and United States Coast Guard Academy. Representatives from each academy will be present to answer questions and provide guidance. Staff from Senators Grassley and Ernst’s offices, as well as academy coordinators from Feenstra’s office, will also discuss their respective application processes.
“Our military is the strongest fighting force in the world due to the service and sacrifice of the brave men and women who wear the uniform and defend our freedoms. We can never adequately thank our troops for risking their own lives to protect our communities and our nation,” said Rep. Randy Feenstra. “I encourage any student interested in applying to one of our nation’s military academies to attend my Military Academy Day in Fort Dodge. This will be a unique opportunity to hear directly from representatives from each of the academies and learn more about the application process.”
The event is scheduled for Monday, May 11th, 2026 at Iowa Central Community College’s Triton Café Boardroom in Fort Dodge from 5:00 PM CT until 7:00 PM CT, with doors opening at 4:30 PM.
