Marcus Hill, a 53-year-old resident of Fort Dodge, Iowa, was sentenced on March 20 in federal court in Sioux City to 144 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine near a protected location.

The case centers on Hill’s involvement in distributing methamphetamine between 2018 and March 2025. According to the plea hearing held in November, Hill admitted that he conspired to distribute the drug throughout the Fort Dodge area. He distributed more than 300 grams of pure methamphetamine on three separate occasions in March of last year to an individual cooperating with law enforcement. One transaction took place within 1,000 feet of Deercreek Apartments, which is a public housing authority property designated as a protected location.

United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand handed down the sentence of twelve years’ imprisonment along with ten years of supervised release following completion of his term. The court also noted that there is no possibility for parole under the federal system.

Hill remains in custody under the supervision of the United States Marshal Service while awaiting transport to a federal prison facility.
