Anthony Neuroth, 49, from Kamrar, Iowa, pled guilty on March 25 in federal court in Sioux City to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and one count of distributing methamphetamine.
The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address drug trafficking offenses. Methamphetamine distribution continues to be a concern for authorities due to its impact on communities and public safety.
According to the plea hearing, Neuroth admitted that between November 2022 and February 2024 he conspired with others to distribute more than 150 grams of methamphetamine. He also distributed half-ounce quantities of the drug on four occasions in 2022 and 2023 to an individual cooperating with law enforcement. Neuroth had previously been convicted in September 2007 for similar charges involving conspiracy and aiding the distribution of methamphetamine in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa.
Sentencing will take place before United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand after a presentence report is prepared. Neuroth remains in custody pending sentencing. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years’ imprisonment, up to life imprisonment, an $8 million fine, and at least eight years of supervised release following any imprisonment.
The outcome reflects continued legal actions against individuals involved in drug trafficking activities.
