The University of Iowa women’s soccer team drew, nil-nil, at Michigan State on Thursday night. Iowa moves to 3-4-3 on the season and 0-1-1 in conference play.
The Hawkeyes fired 10 shots and five shots on goal, led by senior Josie Durr’s four shots (three on goal). Senior Hailey Rydberg was the only other Iowa player with multiple shots on the night with two.
Michigan State posted seven shots of their own, resulting in four saves for Iowa goalkeeper Monica Wilhelm, who earned her fifth clean sheet of the season. Each of Wilhelm’s saves came from shots by Michigan State’s Lauren DeBeau, whose six goals on the season rank third in the Big Ten Conference.
The Spartans move to 6-1-3 on the year and 1-0-1 in conference play.

Michigan State is a very good team and can make even good teams look bad with how they expose you in the attack. I was very pleased with our commitment to stay invested in our game plan, and we had some very good moments to grab a goal in both halves. Tonight was a very good Big Ten game with both teams having chances to win.”
