I-80 nighttime closures near De Soto scheduled for April 6-10

Nighttime maintenance work on Interstate 80 near De Soto will result in lane closures in both directions from April 6 to April 10, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Creston Construction Office.

Westbound I-80 lanes between the De Soto Interchange-Exit 110 (U.S. 169/U.S. 6 N. Avenue) and Exit 113 Interchange (R16/R. Avenue) will be closed each night from Monday, April 6 through Wednesday, April 8, between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. A marked detour will be in place using R16/R. Avenue, U.S. 6/290th Street, and U.S. 6/U.S. 169/N. Avenue.

Eastbound I-80 lanes between the De Soto Interchange-Exit 110 (U.S. 169/Guthrie Avenue) and Exit 117 Interchange (R22/Ute Avenue) are scheduled for closure each night from Wednesday, April 8 through Friday, April 10, also from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., with a marked detour following U.S. 6/U.S. 169/N. Avenue, U.S. 6/290th Street, and R16/R. Avenue.

The Iowa Department of Transportation reminds motorists to drive with caution in work zones, obey posted speed limits and signs, and note that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in these areas. Drivers are advised to stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
