Jordan Michael Million, a 23-year-old resident of Independence, Iowa, has been indicted on federal child pornography charges. The indictment, unsealed on August 20, 2025, in United States District Court in Cedar Rapids, accuses Million of one count of receipt of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography.

According to the indictment, Million is alleged to have received child pornography between April 2024 and December 2024. He is also accused of possessing child pornography on an Apple cellular telephone during that same period and on a Motorola cellular telephone between October 2024 and December 2024.

If convicted on all charges, Million faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and could receive up to forty years. He may also be subject to a $750,000 fine, $84,300 in special assessments, and a lifetime term of supervised release after any imprisonment.

Million appeared in federal court in Cedar Rapids and was ordered held without bond.

“As with any criminal case, a charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.”

The prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program brings together federal, state, and local resources to prosecute offenders and assist victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.usdoj.gov/psc. Internet safety education resources are also available through the same website under the “resources” tab.

Assistant United States Attorney Devra T. Hake is prosecuting the case. The investigation involved several agencies: the Marshalltown Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Independence Police Department, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office, and Cedar Bend Humane Society.
