Mahaska County Board of Supervisors schedules meeting for April 20 in Oskaloosa

The Mahaska County Board of Supervisors will hold a meeting on April 20 at 9:00 a.m. in the third-floor conference room of the Mahaska County Courthouse at 106 South 1st Street, Oskaloosa, according to an agenda notice released on April 18.

The meeting is open to the public and can be accessed through a livestream link available on the county’s official website. An audio conferencing option will also be provided for constituents who wish to comment during public comments or any scheduled public hearing. The audio conferencing number is 319-382-2695 with Conference ID: 502375250#. Callers will be asked to state their name and press #; those not wishing to speak are encouraged to mute their phones.

Items on the agenda include approval of the agenda, a public hearing regarding recodification of ordinances at 9:05 a.m., and a public budget hearing set for 9:40 a.m. The board will also approve minutes from previous meetings held on March 24 and April 6, set a date and time for a budget amendment hearing, and review reports such as the Sheriff’s Report for March.

Additional items include renewal approvals for tobacco and alcohol licenses, approval of the Veterans Affairs third quarter activity report, consideration of an opioid settlement with six regional distributors/dispenser defendants, possible approval of the Secondary Roads five-year construction program, health insurance committee plan recommendations, updates regarding remodeling projects on South 11th Street with potential decisions pending, discussion about county attorney budget reductions, payroll changes related to conservation staff, and final approval of the fiscal year budget for FY26/27. Public comments will be accepted toward the end of the session.
