The Polk County Board of Supervisors announced on Apr. 25 that it will serve as a platinum sponsor for the 2026 Des Moines Arts Festival, an event known for attracting over 200,000 attendees each year.

This sponsorship is intended to support the festival’s continued offering of free events during its three-day celebration at Pappajohn Sculpture Park in Des Moines. The festival plans to feature work from 195 artists from across the country and aims to provide opportunities for creative expression.

“This investment in arts and culture reflects our dedication to fostering a thriving community where residents are inspired to live, work, and create. Our collaboration with the festival aligns perfectly with the county’s mission to enhance the quality of life for all residents,” said Polk County Board Chair Matt McCoy.

Festival activities will include art exhibitions, live music performances, culinary experiences, and children’s programming. Organizers encourage attendees to explore offerings within Pappajohn Sculpture Park during the event.

Stephen King, Executive Director of the Des Moines Arts Festival, said, “The Des Moines Arts Festival is proud to partner with Polk County. Their commitment to the arts and our community plays a vital role in delivering a vibrant, world-class festival experience in the heart of central Iowa.”

The 2026 Arts Festival is scheduled from June 26th through June 28th. Additional information can be found at http://DesMoinesArtsFestival.org.
