Des Moines home prices rise in May 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in May 2019 in Des Moines rose by $4,950 while total sales decreased by 9.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2019, there were 458 homes sold, with a median sale price of $139,950 - a 3.7% increase over the $135,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 505 homes sold in Des Moines in May 2018.

The median sales tax in Des Moines for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,488, approximately 1.8% of the median home sale price for May 2019.
