Altoona home prices rise in September 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in September 2017 in Altoona rose by $7,600 while total sales decreased by 17.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In September 2017, there were 42 homes sold, with a median sale price of $160,000 - a 5% increase over the $152,400 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 51 homes sold in Altoona in September 2016.

The median sales tax in Altoona for 2017 was $3,448. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,286. This marks an increase of 4.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.2%.
