Cedar Rapids home prices rise in September 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in September 2017 in Cedar Rapids rose by $8,620 while total sales increased by 16.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In September 2017, there were 250 homes sold, with a median sale price of $128,000 - a 7.2% increase over the $119,380 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 214 homes sold in Cedar Rapids in September 2016.

The median sales tax in Cedar Rapids for 2017 was $2,557. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,584. This marks an decrease of 1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2%.
