Mount Vernon home prices fall in May 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in May 2017 in Mount Vernon fell by $21,550 while total sales decreased by 45.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2017, there were six homes sold, with a median sale price of $157,450 - a 12% decrease over the $179,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 11 homes sold in Mount Vernon in May 2016.

The median sales tax in Mount Vernon for 2017 was $3,654. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,622. This marks an increase of 0.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.3%.
