Mount Vernon home prices rise in January 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in January 2017 in Mount Vernon rose by $105,500 while total sales decreased by 57.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In January 2017, there were three homes sold, with a median sale price of $265,000 - a 66.1% increase over the $159,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were seven homes sold in Mount Vernon in January 2016.

The median sales tax in Mount Vernon for 2017 was $3,654. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,622. This marks an increase of 0.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.4%.
