Johnston home prices rise in the first quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2019 in Johnston rose by $39,000 while total sales decreased by 28.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2019, there were 61 homes sold, with a median sale price of $277,000 - a 16.4% increase over the $238,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 85 homes sold in Johnston in the first quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Johnston for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $4,698, approximately 1.7% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2019.
