Marion home prices fall in the first quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2019 in Marion fell by $16,000 while total sales decreased by 6.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2019, there were 164 homes sold, with a median sale price of $169,000 - a 8.6% decrease over the $185,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 175 homes sold in Marion in the first quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Marion for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,255, approximately 1.9% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2019.
