Mount Vernon home prices rise in the first half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2019 in Mount Vernon rose by $33,750 while total sales decreased by 21.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2019, there were 25 homes sold, with a median sale price of $208,000 - a 19.4% increase over the $174,250 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 32 homes sold in Mount Vernon in the first half of 2018.

The median sales tax in Mount Vernon for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,654, approximately 1.8% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2019.
