Van Meter home prices rise in the first half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2018 in Van Meter rose by $78,826 while total sales increased by 5.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2018, there were 40 homes sold, with a median sale price of $160,000 - a 97.1% increase over the $81,174 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 38 homes sold in Van Meter in the first half of 2017.

The median sales tax in Van Meter for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,316, approximately 1.4% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2018.
