Iowa GOP criticizes Greenfield’s 'shutting down' of recording of remarks

The Iowa GOP is taking issue with Democratic Senate candidate Theresa Greenfield’s alleged refusal to answer questions and efforts to prevent recording at her events.

“Greenfield has emerged as a rising star in the game of dodgeball,” the Iowa GOP stated in a website post. “Whether it be giving nonanswers to voters’ questions or shutting down any recording of her remarks, Greenfield has made clear her dedication to dodging on the issues most important to Iowans,” the post stated.

During a campaign stop in Iowa Falls earlier this month, Greenfield’s description of Republican Sen. Joni Ernst’s tax policy amounted to another blunder, the post said.

“Any question as to why Greenfield has been desperately dodging was answered last week when Greenfield called Joni Ernst a socialist for voting for tax cuts. The bizarre statement left people on both sides of the aisle scratching their heads,” the post stated.

“Greenfield’s gaffe makes clear why she typically embraces Chuck Schumer’s windowless basement strategy, rather than answering Iowans’ questions,” the post said.
