Mount Vernon home prices rise in the second half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2019 in Mount Vernon rose by $13,500 while total sales decreased by 24.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2019, there were 25 homes sold, with a median sale price of $193,500 - a 7.5% increase over the $180,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 33 homes sold in Mount Vernon in the second half of 2018.

The median sales tax in Mount Vernon for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,654, approximately 1.9% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2019.
