University of Iowa issued the following announcement on Feb. 14
Ty Allan Jackson, an award-winning children's book author, literacy advocate, publisher and motivational speaker heads the 14th Annual African-American Read-In Thursday, Feb. 27, to celebrate literary works of African-American authors and illustrators. More than 800 first graders from Waterloo and Hudson schools are expected to attend.
