Hiawatha home prices fall in the first half of 2020

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2020 in Hiawatha fell by $25,550 while total sales decreased by 23.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2020, there were 40 homes sold, with a median sale price of $124,700 - a 17% decrease over the $150,250 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 52 homes sold in Hiawatha in the first half of 2019.

The median sales tax in Hiawatha for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,889, approximately 2.3% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2020.
