Pricing for the median home in Cedar Rapids increased during the second half of 2020

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2020 in Cedar Rapids rose by $4,900 while total sales decreased by 13.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2020, there were 1,184 homes sold, with a median sale price of $149,900 - a 3.4% increase over the $145,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 1,363 homes sold in Cedar Rapids in the second half of 2019.

The median sales tax in Cedar Rapids for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,561, approximately 1.7% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2020.
