The second half of 2020: Van Meter experienced a 7.1% increase in median home prices

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2020 in Van Meter rose by $12,900 while total sales decreased by 28.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2020, there were 15 homes sold, with a median sale price of $194,900 - a 7.1% increase over the $182,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 21 homes sold in Van Meter in the second half of 2019.

The median sales tax in Van Meter for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,316, approximately 1.2% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2020.
