The second half of 2020: Mount Vernon experienced a 3.4% increase in median home prices

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2020 in Mount Vernon rose by $6,500 while total sales increased by 44.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2020, there were 39 homes sold, with a median sale price of $200,000 - a 3.4% increase over the $193,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 27 homes sold in Mount Vernon in the second half of 2019.

The median sales tax in Mount Vernon for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,654, approximately 1.8% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2020.
