Census Bureau: More women than men in Iowa in 2019

Of the 3,139,508 people living in Iowa in 2019, 50.4 percent (1,580,972) were women and 49.6 percent (1,558,536) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Hawkeye Reporter.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 19,381. In the 65 and over age range, there were 291,497 females and 234,025 males.
