Dordt University issued the following announcement on August 10.
Dordt University will be hosting a guided prairie walk on August 16 at 7 p.m. starting at the southwest corner of the Dordt prairie. The walk will be led by Dr. Robb De Haan, professor of biology and chair of the Environmental Studies Department, and student managers Kendall Van Zanten and Joe Kamstra.
The walk offers attendees the opportunity to learn about the plants and animals that call the Dordt Prairie home. Additionally, questions about prairie establishments and management will be addressed.
“Come find out what those yellow, deep blue, and white flowers are, which insects they attract, and which might be a good fit for your home garden,” says De Haan.
