Grinnell College recently issued the following announcement on September 15.
As the new college rankings are released this fall, readers consistently find Grinnell College’s position to be one of the top liberal arts schools in the country. Of course, while no list of numbers can be the sole indicator of Grinnell being amongst the very best, it can demonstrate a school’s overall reputation and more specifically, some of the categorical offerings that make them strong on the national stage.
In the recent August release of the 2021 college rankings by the Washington Monthly, which looks at liberal arts colleges in the context of “contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research, and providing opportunities for public service,” Grinnell came in 5th position. Also, in the September release of the 2022 U.S. News and World Report rankings - measuring many factors such as graduation rates, faculty resources, and academic reputation - Grinnell tied for 13th in the country. Furthermore, Grinnell notably improved in several specific rankings – achieving 3rd for Best Undergraduate Teaching and 10th for Best Value Schools – a testament to great professors and financial aid resources. Likewise, Niche, with its letter grade system, marked Grinnell for 2022 overall with an A+, with the same mark for Academics and Professors, and further giving an A to Value.
Achieving these rankings from esteemed and popular sites consistently shines a very positive spotlight on Grinnell College at the top of colleges nationwide. And while national evaluations are a helpful to students comparing and selecting schools, personal evaluation is ultimately most vital. In seeking the best fit, students should make sure to find the school that shines where it matters most to them.
