Home prices increased in Des Moines during the third quarter of 2021

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2021 in Des Moines rose by $17,795 while total sales increased by 3.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2021, there were 1,436 homes sold, with a median sale price of $172,795 - a 11.5% increase over the $155,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 1,388 homes sold in Des Moines in the third quarter of 2020.

The median sales tax in Des Moines for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,488, approximately 1.4% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2021.
