Grinnell College recently issued the following announcement.
Matt Lieberman '22 led the way for the Grinnell College men's cross country team at the NCAA Division III Midwest Region Championships Saturday at Saukie Golf Course.
Lieberman just missed a season-best time, placing 79th of 217 runners in 26 minutes, 37.0 seconds on the 8-kilometer course.
Andrew Nickeson '23 was next in line for Grinnell, taking 91st in a season-best 26:57.2. Bradley Ramsey '24 was 104th in 27:15.6, Spencer Skidmore '24 took 110th in 27:21.5 and Kody Harrison '22 was 123rd in a season-best 27:37.1.
Also for Grinnell, Brian Goodell '24 placed 131st in 27:52.7 and Eli Brotman '25 was 160th in a season-best 28:35.5.
Grinnell was 16th of 30 squads in the team standings with 507 points. Wartburg College won the title with 38 points and had the individual champ in Joe Freiburger, who ran 24:19.5.
