The fourth quarter of 2021: Altoona experienced a 10.9% increase in median home prices

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2021 in Altoona rose by $25,000 while total sales decreased by 13.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2021, there were 115 homes sold, with a median sale price of $255,000 - a 10.9% increase over the $230,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 133 homes sold in Altoona in the fourth quarter of 2020.

The median sales tax in Altoona for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,448, approximately 1.4% of the median home sale price for the fourth quarter of 2021.
