Rising home prices in Altoona in the second half of 2021

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2021 in Altoona rose by $13,800 while total sales decreased by 14.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2021, there were 236 homes sold, with a median sale price of $245,700 - a 6% increase over the $231,900 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 275 homes sold in Altoona in the second half of 2020.

The median sales tax in Altoona for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,448, approximately 1.4% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2021.
