Dordt to Host Small Ensembles Recital

The Dordt University Music Department will present a small ensembles recital on Friday, April 29 at 7 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. The recital will feature a saxophone ensemble, percussion ensemble, jazz combo, vocal duet, and a four-person piano piece.

The saxophone ensemble is led by Pamela De Haan, Dordt's saxophone instructor and also a voice instructor. Members include:

  • Sarah Goetsch
The percussion ensemble members:

  • Katie Bush
  • Henri Carrette
  • Gabe Huisken
  • Josh Kroeze
  • Jenna Kuperus
  • Elizabeth Lindquist
  • Muxi Liu
  • Beatrice Nelson
  • Mary Nelson
  • Claire Ridgway
  • Cassie Van Otterloo
  • Max Wierenga
The jazz combo first performed together for Dordt’s Arts in the Prairie event this fall. Members include:

  • Annika Rynders, alto saxophone
  • Joseph Kamstra, trombone
  • James Kamstra, drums
  • Lael Bervig, piano
  • Emily Zuidema, bass
  • Jasper Carrette, guitar
  • Emma McGaughey, tenor saxophone
A vocal duet will be performing, “The Cat Duet” by Giachino Rossini. Performers include:

  • Kylie Sorensen
  • Carolyn Rayhons
An eight-hands and two-pianos piece featuring four Dordt piano students will be performing "The Great Gate of Kiev" by Modest Mussorgsky, arranged by Reginald Hache. Members include:

  • Emma DeVries
  • Joya Schreurs
  • Aaron Galloway
  • Jennifer Hoksbergen
