Unity in the Community Fall Educational Forum

Unity in the Community, in partnership with the Sioux City Police Department and Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office, will be holding a “National Faith & Blue” initiative fall educational forum “Unifying in Difficult Times” on Tuesday October 18th  from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sioux City Public Museum, 607 4th Street.

We will be asking community advocates, mental health professionals and law enforcement about how movements like “defund the police” have had a mental health impact on our citizens and officers; and how we as a community can move forward together. These forums always provide a positive opportunity for open dialog and information sharing. Panelists will include Fr. David Esquilliano, Dr. Jerome Pierson, Manapi LaMere and local law enforcement officials. UITC forums are an ongoing way of providing open and honest discussions between citizens, law enforcement and community leaders to advance the goals of UITC that include “keeping peace, hope, love and prayer in the lives of our community which will embrace the partnerships and support of citizens and law enforcement at all times.”
