The Iowa Transportation Commission, in collaboration with the Iowa Department of Transportation, is initiating an update to the State Transportation Plan. This plan outlines future investment strategies for Iowa's multimodal transportation system, which includes aviation, public transit, rail, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, highways, and water transportation.
To involve the public in this process, Iowans are invited to provide input on the state's transportation system. A survey has been created to gather feedback on the current system and ideas for its future development. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and will help shape the objectives and strategies of the updated State Transportation Plan.
The survey is accessible at https://iowadot.gov/FutureTravel and will remain open until August 31, 2025. For more information about the current State Transportation Plan, visit https://iowadot.gov/transportation-development/systems-planning/areas-planning/transportation-plans/state-transportation-plan. Inquiries can be directed to the Iowa Department of Transportation's Systems Planning Bureau at 800 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50010. They can also be reached by phone at 515-233-7950 or via email at iowa.motion@iowadot.us.
