U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa commented on new guidance from the U.S. Department of the Treasury regarding tax credits for wind and solar energy projects. The updated guidance aims to clarify how these renewable energy projects can qualify for clean energy tax credits.

“Based on my initial review, Treasury’s guidance seems to offer a viable path forward for the wind and solar industries to continue to meet increased energy demand. I appreciate the work Secretary Bessent and his team put in to issue guidance that reflects some of the concerns Congress and industry leaders have raised. Renewables are an essential part of the ‘all of the above’ energy equation. I’ll continue speaking with industry leaders to ensure those in Iowa and nationwide are afforded a smooth off-ramp, as Congress intended,” Grassley said.

Grassley has played a significant role in shaping federal policy on wind energy, having authored the first federal wind tax credit in 1992.
