The Iowa Department of Transportation has announced a temporary overnight closure of the eastbound Interstate 235 to westbound Interstate 80 ramp in Polk County. The closure is scheduled from 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, until 5 a.m. on Friday, October 10, weather permitting. This closure is necessary for the removal of an overhead sign truss at mile marker 137.9.

During the closure, drivers will be directed to follow a marked detour route that involves taking I-35 North to Corporate Woods Drive and then southbound I-35 from Corporate Woods Drive to westbound I-80. The department advises motorists to drive cautiously, adhere to posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are doubled in work zones.

Drivers are reminded to stay alert, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and wear seat belts while traveling through the area.
