Crews from the Iowa Department of Transportation's Fort Dodge maintenance garage will close the northbound U.S. 169 ramp to 2nd Avenue South in Fort Dodge on Tuesday, Sept. 23. The closure is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting, for resurfacing work on part of the ramp and its intersection with 2nd Avenue South.

During the closure, drivers will need to follow a marked detour north to Kountry Lane and then take Kountry Lane south to Iowa 7. The Iowa DOT advises motorists to drive cautiously, adhere to posted speed limits and signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones.

"Drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts," according to the Iowa DOT.
