The Iowa Mississippi River Parkway Commission (MRPC) is scheduled to meet on October 21 at the E.B. Lyons Interpretative Center in Dubuque. The meeting will begin with roll call and introductions at 10 a.m., followed by the approval of the July 21, 2025, meeting minutes.
The agenda includes discussions on budget matters, including approval of the treasurer and expense report, review of current expenditures, and plans for the fiscal year. Additionally, there will be a discussion and approval of a flyer concerning the Lansing Bridge Closure.
Reports from national and state committees will be presented at 11 a.m., covering areas such as culture, heritage, marketing, transportation, environment, recreation, and agriculture. The meeting will also highlight outcomes from a recent national meeting in Baton Rouge and address roles for completing interpretative center signing standards.
Following lunch at 11:45 a.m., the chair report will commence at 1 p.m., which includes reviewing paperwork for new members and discussing mandatory training requirements set by the Iowa Public Information Board.
At 2 p.m., there will be a discussion to approve future meeting schedules before adjourning at 2:15 p.m. An immediate follow-up meeting by the Iowa Mississippi River Parkway Commission Inc., a tax-exempt fundraising organization, is planned at the same location.
