Traffic changes are set to begin on Interstate 80 between West Branch and Iowa City starting October 21, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's Davenport construction office. The new westbound lanes will open, shifting traffic onto them on Tuesday morning, weather permitting.

The shift is part of ongoing work to expand I-80 to three lanes in each direction. Drivers should expect changing traffic patterns over the coming weeks as crews continue median work. The Iowa DOT advises motorists to drive cautiously, adhere to posted speed limits, and be aware that fines for moving violations double in work zones.
