Steven William Acklin, age 28 and formerly from Waterloo, Iowa, pled guilty on March 23 in federal court in Cedar Rapids to charges of sexual exploitation of children and receipt of child pornography.

Acklin admitted during his plea hearing that he persuaded, induced, and enticed multiple minors to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing visual depictions between January and September 2024. He also acknowledged receiving child pornography between October 2023 and November 2024.

These offenses are serious violations of federal law designed to protect minors from exploitation. The case underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute individuals involved in such crimes.
