Des Moines home prices fall in April 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in April 2017 in Des Moines fell by $905 while total sales increased by 25.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In April 2017, there were 468 homes sold, with a median sale price of $116,395 - a 0.8% decrease over the $117,300 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 372 homes sold in Des Moines in April 2016.

The median sales tax in Des Moines for 2017 was $2,488. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,440. This marks an increase of 2%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.1%.
