Polk City home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Polk City rose by $30,280 while total sales increased by 4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 262 homes sold, with a median sale price of $228,750 - a 15.3% increase over the $198,470 median sale price for the previous year. There were 252 homes sold in Polk City in 2016.

The median sales tax in Polk City for 2017 was $3,800. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,688. This marks an increase of 3%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.7%.
