A shelter in place order is still not a must for Iowa, Gov. Kim Reynolds said, according to WhoTV.
The state has seen 105 positive COVID-19 cases across 26 counties. But Reynolds said it’s not enough to call for a state-wide shelter in place just yet–even though she also said she’s convinced the number of cases will get larger as adequate testing becomes available.
“At this point we’re not at a place where we’re going to order a shelter in place or a stay at home. We are continuing to evaluate what those metrics look like,” she said, adding she wants to “make sure that we’re not shutting down a state where we don’t need to," Reynolds said.
While there’s not a shelter in place for the entire state yet, Reynolds did give the green light for local authorities to deem one if they see fit.
