Pella Corporation is beta-testing its e-commerce capabilities in three Iowa cities and eight others across the nation.
Pella, a designer and manufacturer of windows and doors for homes and commercial properties based out of Pella, Iowa, is the first national window and door manufacture to offer an e-commerce option which allows customers to customize products, see price and make purchase all online, a press release said.
"Our customers wanted a path for online purchase, and we're delivering that by bringing e-commerce to our category," Emily Videtto, chief marketing officer for Pella Corporation, said in the press release. "This is the fastest way to customize a window and have it delivered directly to the homeowner. No other company in our category is doing this."
E-commerce beta-testing at Pella.com will begin in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Davenport, Iowa; Waterloo, Iowa; Chicago, Illinois; Cincinnati, Ohio; Dayton, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Green Bay, Wisconsin; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Minneapolis, Minnesota, according to the release.
As part of the companies continued growth, the company decided to invest in growing in the market of homeowners wishing "to manage their own purchase experience," the release said. According to the press release, a study done by Pella showed that 47% of customers would consider making their purchases online.
The company plans to have the most product lines available online for purchase in 2021, with the ability to filter by queries such as material, product line and price range. Future plans for the online shopping experience through Pella Corporation also includes professional in-home measurement verification and Pella certified installation, the release said.
