American Rescue Plan to Deliver Funds to Local Governments

City of Grinnell issued the following announcement on August 4.

The City of Grinnell will receive a maximum of $1,358,499.71 in Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds as part of the American Rescue Plan. The funds will be delivered in rounds with the first round in the amount of $679,249.86. Remaining funds will be delivered at a later date according to U.S. Treasury guidelines. The Grinnell City Council is discussing how best to utilize the funds. According to the guidelines, allowable expenditures fall into the following categories:

  • Support Public Health Response
  • Replace Public Sector Revenue Loss
  • Water and Sewer Infrastructure
  • Address Negative Economic Impacts
  • Premium Pay for Essential Workers
  • Broadband Infrastructure
