Businessolver’s philanthropic efforts, delivered in the form of a range of foundation activities, benefitted communities nationwide during 2021, including some in the Hawkeye State.
The Businessolver Foundation was able to distribute more than $330,000 to 100 nonprofit organizations in 15 communities nationwide with money going to groups that follow the mission of positively impacting the lives and communities where employees and clients live and work, including right here in Iowa, according to a release from the organization.
"Given the events of the last two years, we felt compelled to change our initiatives to better match our company mission and philanthropic aspirations," Jon Shanahan, CEO and president of Businessolver, said in the release.
The company, which is a leader in software-as-a-service-based benefits technology and services, announced the foundation adjusted its pillars of giving. The pillars include mental health, STEM and career education, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
Groups that benefitted from the efforts during the year include National Alliance of Mental Illness; Make-A-Wish Foundation; Make-It-OK, a Des Moines based initiative; Big Brothers Big Sisters; Central Iowa Junior Achievement’s Finance Park; American Heart Association, Special Olympics and LGBTQ efforts with Capital City Pride and One Iowa; as well as diversity training for Boys & Girls Clubs of America, according to the release.
Shanahan said that the new pillars enable the company, which was established in 1998, to have a greater impact on the communities through its foundation.
