Democratic U.S. Senate candidate from Iowa Abby Finkenauer is advocating for term limits by putting other Iowa lawmakers in her crosshairs.

Abby Finkenauer sharply criticized Chuck Grassley who was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1980.

"Senator @ChuckGrassley has spent 47 years in Washington," Finkenauer said in a post to her official Twitter account Jan. 18. "That’s just too damn long & I don’t care who you are. Folks, it’s not only time for term limits, it’s time we elect people who will hold themselves to them. Watch & RT if you agree!"

Finkenauer will be running for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate in 2022. Grassley has served in elected office for 63 consecutive and is trying to get reelected to an eighth term in the U.S. Senate in 2022. The sitting senator will be turning 89 years old in 2022, according to the his press kit.

Grassley has a degree from the University of Northern Iowa and a doctorate from the University of Iowa, according to his press kit, while Finkenauer has a degree from Drake University. Finkenauer married her husband Daniel Wasta two years ago while Grassley has been married to his wife Barbara Speicher since 1954.
