Iowa Central Dental Hygiene provides helpful tips for children

371

Iowa Central Community College recently issued the following announcement.

The Iowa Central Dental Hygiene Program recently was visited by several special little guests.

Children from Head Start in Fort Dodge toured the facility and were given fluoride varnishes and educated on the importance of healthy teeth. They also were visited by the “Tooth Fairy” while on campus.

“It was such a great experience getting to have head start come to our clinic,” said Kelly Boleyn, a student in the dental hygiene program. “It was so fun to be there as it was the first experience for some of them at a dental clinic.

“I love seeing all their smiling faces and hope that we were able to make an impression on them about how important it is to take care of their teeth.”

February has been designated as Children’s Dental Health month. High school students will also visit the clinics later this month.
