(Tuesday, April 5; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Great Plains Athletic Conference and Hauff Mid-America Sports have announced the baseball pitcher-of-the-week for contests played March 28-April 3 and Dordt’s Gyeongju Kim (Junior; Seoul, South Korea), has earned the honor for the second straight week.
Kim earned his third conference win and fifth overall with a 1-0 win over Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday, April 2. Kim allowed two base hits in the first inning and threw no-hit baseball the rest of the game while fanning 14 and walking three. The righthander has yet to allow an earned run in 25 innings of GPAC action and he has struck out 77 batters this season. His 14 strikeouts on Saturday is the third highest in Dordt baseball history and follows his 21 strikeout performance from the previous week.
The baseball team is 6-6 in league play and 10-18 overall and will host Mount Marty on Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9 in a pair of doubleheaders.
